Corner House and Memorial Hall Annual Public Meeting
Tuesday 14th November, Open to Public – 7:30 pm, Memorial Hall
Following on from the interest shown at the Corner House and Memorial Hall Trust stand at Street Fair, here’s another opportunity to hear about the plans that have been developed to make The Corner House more accessible, more sustainable and more energy-efficient. There will be plenty of time of ask questions and to offer your thoughts on what the trustees have in mind for the future of our iconic community building.
Information will also be available about the operation of The Corner House and the Memorial Hall since the Trust took over responsibility for them just over a year ago.
Charlbury WI Monthly Meeting
Wednesday 15th November, Open to Public – 7:30 pm, Memorial Hall
We’ll be getting in to the festive spirit at our November meeting trying out some quick and easy Christmas crafts to take home at the end of the evening. A good opportunity to try out your local WI group and have some creative fun. New members and visitors very welcome.
Garden Society Talk
Thursday 16th November, Open to Public – 7:30 pm, Memorial Hall
“So many plants, too little space” Talk by Bob Brown, founder of Cotswold Garden Flowers Memorial Hall, 7:30 p.m.
This will be the last talk of the year, giving way to a whole new season of horticultural adventures in 2024!
This is also a good opportunity to renew your membership for 2024, or join the Garden Society for 2024, benefiting from free membership for the rest of 2023 (including discounts at local Garden Centres!).
Bob has a life-long obsession with hardy perennials widened and much honed since he started his nursery “Cotswold Garden Flowers” 32 years ago on an isolated acre of unpropitious alkaline lias clay in Worcestershire. He is known for having opinions (many very critical) about all the 18 thousand or so kinds of plants he’s grown or tried to grow. He has been vice chairman of the Herbaceous Committees of the RHS overseeing trials for the Award of Garden Merit (AGM). He writes for various periodicals including a monthly series in Gardening Which and is a regular return speaker. He’s holder of the Veitch Memorial Medal awarded for the science and advancement of horticulture.

Relaxing Reiki Infused Sound Bath

Relax in a nurturing environment to enjoy soothing sounds of Teena founder of Aurora Sound Therapy and Reiki Centre based in Charlbury and Reiki infusion by Rachel Rhodes to rejuvanate and aid a peaceful night’s sleep Refreshed for the weekend. Come and join me for an enhanced experience this month. Kickstart your weekend with a relaxing reset Reiki infused Sound bath.
Not only will you be surrounded in the beautiful relaxing colours of the Aurora Borealis, but you will be bathed in the beautiful relaxing acoustic sound of Gongs, crystal bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, native Indian Flute, gentle piano and zen vocals from each Chakra note.
Reiki healing will be offered to each of you who are open to it by Teena and special guest Reiki Master Rachel Rhodes as we relax down and a free reiki infused crystal of your choosing will be gifted for your own use during the Sound Bath.
Bring a mat, blanket, pillow/cushion (a second cushion if you have lumbar issues). I will have some mats and blankets too For hire £1.00 and two zero gravity chairs for those who find it hard to lie on the floor. email to reserve. CRAG’s Sunday Tea Concerts
Sunday 3rd December, 3:00 pm, Memorial Hall, Tickets £15.00
The Somerville Choir under their conductor William Dawes will be returning to CRAG for the third time with another sparkling concert of pre-Christmas musical delights.
The music lasts approximately one hour and is always followed by complimentary tea and CRAG’s legendary homemade cake.
Tickets are £15 (£5.00 for under 15s) and can be bought in advance from our website or from Cotswold Frames in Charlbury from approximately two weeks before each performance. Limited tickets may also be available at the door.

Children's Christmas Disco

Charlbury Pre-School is thrilled to invite you to our Children’s Christmas Disco on December 9th at the Memorial Hall. It’s going to be a magical afternoon filled with joy and merriment for the whole family.

Charlbury’s market is back for a Christmas special. Come along on Saturday to see many of our regular stallholders and some exciting new ones, including hot food from Hook Norton Butcher’s freshly cooked on site.
